  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg and molasses.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Refrigerate the dough for about one hour.
  6. Roll out the chilled dough and cut out desired shapes. Place on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until firm but slightly soft in the center.
  8. Let the cookies cool before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. To make icing, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Decorate cooled cookies.
