Ingredients

  • 8 oz white chocolate, melted
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Begin by melting the white chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. Allow it to cool slightly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Pour the slightly cooled white chocolate into the butter, mixing until combined.
  4. Gradually add the powdered sugar while mixing on low speed. Cover the bowl to avoid a powdered sugar cloud.
  5. Add the heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract. Increase the mixer speed to high and whip for another 2–3 minutes until fluffy and smooth.
  6. If the frosting is too thick, add a tablespoon of cream; if too thin, add more powdered sugar until desired consistency is reached.
  7. Frost your cakes, cupcakes, or cookies generously with the frosting.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use coconut cream in place of butter and heavy cream, and dairy-free white chocolate. Allow melted chocolate to cool adequately to avoid a runny texture.
