Description
A smooth, sweet, and dreamy white chocolate buttercream frosting that transforms any dessert into a rich experience.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 8 oz white chocolate, melted
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Begin by melting the white chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. Allow it to cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Pour the slightly cooled white chocolate into the butter, mixing until combined.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar while mixing on low speed. Cover the bowl to avoid a powdered sugar cloud.
- Add the heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract. Increase the mixer speed to high and whip for another 2–3 minutes until fluffy and smooth.
- If the frosting is too thick, add a tablespoon of cream; if too thin, add more powdered sugar until desired consistency is reached.
- Frost your cakes, cupcakes, or cookies generously with the frosting.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use coconut cream in place of butter and heavy cream, and dairy-free white chocolate. Allow melted chocolate to cool adequately to avoid a runny texture.
