Description

A rich and savory beef dish cooked in nutty browned butter with earthy mushrooms and aromatic garlic.

Ingredients

  • Beef (sirloin or ribeye), cut into strips
  • Unsalted butter
  • Fresh mushrooms (cremini or shiitake)
  • Fresh garlic, minced
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or thyme)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, stirring frequently until it reaches a rich amber color and develops a nutty fragrance.
  2. Increase the heat to medium-high. Add beef strips to the skillet in a single layer. Sear for about 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. Add mushrooms and minced garlic to the skillet. Stir to combine and sauté for another 4-5 minutes until mushrooms are tender.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley or thyme before serving.
  6. Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.

Notes

Cooking in a well-seasoned cast-iron skillet enhances flavors and ensures a perfect sear.
