Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, then remove it from the heat and stir in the sugar until well combined and shiny.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, stirring until incorporated before adding the next.
- Stir in the vanilla extract for an aromatic boost.
- Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually mix this dry blend into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, watching for the edges to set while the centers remain soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
