  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, then remove it from the heat and stir in the sugar until well combined and shiny.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, stirring until incorporated before adding the next.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract for an aromatic boost.
  5. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually mix this dry blend into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, watching for the edges to set while the centers remain soft.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
