  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup crushed Butterfinger candy bars
  • 1/2 cup caramel bits or homemade caramel

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl, then gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in the crushed Butterfinger bars and caramel bits.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the center looks slightly soft.
  8. Allow to rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute unsalted butter with vegan butter. Experiment with different candy bars for a unique twist.
