- 1 large egg
- Cold water as needed
Instructions
- Prepare the dough: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, softened butter, and garlic. Mix until crumbly, then add cheese and herbs. Pour in cold water until the dough coheres.
- Chill the dough: Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it chill for about 30 minutes.
- Shape the appetizers: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll small pieces of dough into balls and create an indentation in each ball with your thumb.
- Add the filling: In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese, remaining cheese, and any extra herbs. Spoon mixture into each thumbprint.
- Bake: Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool and enjoy: Allow to cool slightly before serving.
