Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar for cheesecake layer
  • 2 large eggs for cheesecake layer
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for cheesecake layer

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and mix in the sugar until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat, stir in the eggs one at a time, and add vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour and cocoa powder. Gradually stir it into the butter mixture just until combined.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into your prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the sugar and then add eggs and vanilla. Mix until creamy.
  7. Spoon the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer in the pan, spreading it evenly.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining brownie batter and swirl gently with a knife for a marbled effect.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the brownie comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother mix. Avoid overmixing the batter to prevent dense brownies.
