Ingredients

- 3 large egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

- Green food coloring
- Festive edible glitter or colored sugar (for decoration)
Instructions
- Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whip egg whites until frothy, then gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar, then fold into egg whites.
- Add green food coloring and gently fold until uniform.
- Pipe tree shapes on baking sheets, sprinkle with edible glitter.
- Let macarons rest for 30-60 minutes to develop a skin.
- Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 15-18 minutes, then cool completely.
- Beat softened butter with powdered sugar and flavoring to make filling.
- Assemble macarons by pairing shells and filling them.
