Description
A cherished recipe for vibrant, sweet raspberry jam with a hint of lemon, perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh raspberries (or frozen, thawed and drained)
- 2 cups granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (or bottled)
- 1 package pectin
Instructions
- Start by washing your raspberries gently to avoid bruising.
- In a large, heavy-bottomed pot, combine the raspberries with sugar, lemon juice, and pectin. Stir well to coat the berries evenly.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently.
- Once the mixture comes to a boil, continue to cook for around 10 to 15 minutes, stirring constantly until it thickens.
- Remove from heat and let the jam cool slightly before pouring it into sterilized jars.
- Seal the jars tightly and let them cool completely to room temperature.
Notes
For best results, stir in a pinch of salt at the end to enhance flavors. Always use enough pectin for a thick jam.
