Description
A delicious dish combining creamy sauce with Cajun spices and tender salmon, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
- Pasta (fettuccine or linguine)
- Salmon (fresh or frozen)
- Heavy cream
- Cajun seasoning
- Garlic (fresh cloves)
- Shallots or onion
- Butter
- Olive oil
- Fresh herbs (like parsley or chives)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water and cook your pasta according to package directions until al dente.
- Prepare the Salmon: Season salmon fillets with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet, cook salmon skin-side down for 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and chopped shallots. Sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes, then stir in extra Cajun seasoning.
- Make the Cream Sauce: Add heavy cream and simmer for about 3-4 minutes until thickened, adjusting with pasta water if necessary.
- Combine the Ingredients: Flake the salmon and return it to the skillet along with the cooked pasta, tossing gently to coat.
- Finish with Herbs: Remove from heat and stir in freshly chopped herbs.
- Serve Immediately: Dish up and sprinkle with extra Cajun seasoning or cracked pepper if desired.
Notes
Ensure to not overcook the salmon; it should be flaky but moist. Pair with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables.
