Description
Indulge in these wholesome Date Snickers Bars that combine rich chocolate, nut butter, and the natural sweetness of dates for a delightful treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Medjool dates
- 1/2 cup nut butter (almond, cashew, or peanut)
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
- Sea salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare your pan: Line a small baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
- Soften the dates: If your dates are a bit dry, soak them in warm water for about 10-15 minutes, then drain.
- Blend the base: In a food processor, add the soaked dates, nut butter, and oats. Pulse until you achieve a thick, sticky mixture.
- Layer the mixture: Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan, ensuring it’s compact.
- Make the chocolate coating: Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or a double boiler, stirring until smooth. Add a touch of coconut oil for a thinner consistency if desired.
- Coat the bars: Pour the melted chocolate over the pressed mixture, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top for that extra flavor.
- Chill: Place the pan in the refrigerator for about an hour or until set. Once firm, lift the bars out using the parchment.
- Slice and serve: Cut into squares or rectangles as desired. These are perfect for snacking or dessert!
