Description
A refreshing holiday sangria featuring white wine, seasonal fruits, and a splash of fizzy soda.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bottle dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
- 2 Gala or Granny Smith apples, diced
- 2 Bosc or Anjou pears, diced
- 1 cup pomegranate seeds
- 1 cup cranberry juice (100% juice)
- 1 cup club soda or ginger ale
- Fresh mint or rosemary sprigs
- Orange and lime slices
Instructions
- Prepare your fruits by dicing the apples and pears into bite-sized pieces and extracting the seeds from the pomegranate.
- Combine the white wine and cranberry juice in a large pitcher. Optionally, add a splash of brandy for extra depth.
- Stir in the chopped fruits, making sure they’re covered in the wine mixture. Allow them to marinate for 30 minutes or longer in the fridge.
- Add the club soda or ginger ale just before serving, followed by fresh herbs and citrus slices.
- Serve in glasses filled with ice, garnished with additional fruits and herbs.
Notes
Letting the sangria sit for a while allows the flavors to meld beautifully. Always add soda just before serving to maintain fizz.
