Description
Savory and comforting French Dip Squares filled with tender beef and wrapped in flaky pastry, served with a rich dipping sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 lb Flank steak or roast beef
- 1 package Puff pastry
- 1 Sweet onion, diced
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 cups Beef broth
- 1 tsp Fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tbsp Butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the filling by melting butter in a skillet and sautéing the onions until golden brown, then add garlic and sauté for another minute.
- Add the beef and herbs, then season with salt and pepper until just browned.
- Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle on a floured surface.
- Cut the pastry into squares and fill with the beef mixture, folding corners to meet in the center.
- Brush the tops with melted butter.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare the dipping sauce by heating beef broth and stirring in Worcestershire sauce.
- Serve warm with the dipping sauce on the side.
Notes
For a vegetarian variant, substitute beef with mushrooms or tofu.
