Description

A rich and decadent German Chocolate Pie with a creamy filling, topped with sweet coconut and crunchy pecans, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Pie Crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 8 oz Sweet German Chocolate (or high-quality dark chocolate)
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Sugar (granulated or brown)
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Coconut Flakes
  • 1 cup Pecans (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup Water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the pie crust by rolling it out into a 9-inch pie pan and crimping the edges. Pre-bake for about 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. Melt the sweet German chocolate with 1/2 cup of water in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.
  4. Make the filling by whisking sugar and eggs in a large mixing bowl. Slowly drizzle in the melted chocolate while whisking.
  5. Mix in the unsweetened coconut flakes and chopped pecans, then add melted butter and mix well.
  6. Fill the pre-baked pie crust with the creamy filling and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.
  8. Cool completely at room temperature before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence. Let the pie cool thoroughly for best texture.
