Description
A rich and decadent German Chocolate Pie with a creamy filling, topped with sweet coconut and crunchy pecans, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 Pie Crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 8 oz Sweet German Chocolate (or high-quality dark chocolate)
- 3 large Eggs
- 1 cup Sugar (granulated or brown)
- 1 cup Unsweetened Coconut Flakes
- 1 cup Pecans (chopped)
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup Water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the pie crust by rolling it out into a 9-inch pie pan and crimping the edges. Pre-bake for about 10 minutes until lightly golden.
- Melt the sweet German chocolate with 1/2 cup of water in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.
- Make the filling by whisking sugar and eggs in a large mixing bowl. Slowly drizzle in the melted chocolate while whisking.
- Mix in the unsweetened coconut flakes and chopped pecans, then add melted butter and mix well.
- Fill the pre-baked pie crust with the creamy filling and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.
- Cool completely at room temperature before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
Serve with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence. Let the pie cool thoroughly for best texture.
