Description
A fluffy and aromatic gluten-free focaccia bread, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Herbs and toppings (e.g., rosemary, garlic, cherry tomatoes)
Instructions
- Prepare the yeast: In a bowl, combine warm water and sugar, then sprinkle the yeast over top. Allow it to bloom for about 10 minutes, until frothy.
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the gluten-free all-purpose flour and salt.
- Combine: Once the yeast mixture is ready, pour it into the flour mixture along with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Stir until well combined.
- Rise: Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm spot for about 30 to 45 minutes.
- Prepare the baking sheet: Generously grease a baking sheet with olive oil. Transfer the dough onto the sheet and spread it out gently with your fingers to fill the pan.
- Add toppings: Drizzle the top with more olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt, and add your herbs or toppings of choice.
- Second rise: Cover the dough again and let it rise for another 20 to 30 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Cool and serve: Allow it to cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
For a nutty flavor, consider using almond flour or oat flour blends. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days.
