- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- Fresh strawberries or raspberries for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Mix together the sugar, eggs, and oil in another bowl until blended. Gradually add the milk and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling them about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow them to cool completely on a wire rack.
- Prepare your cream cheese frosting by beating softened cream cheese with butter, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes generously and top with fresh fruit.
Notes
Don’t rush the cooling process; frosting too soon can melt the frosting.
