- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar until combined.
- Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Sift together the cocoa powder, flour, and salt in a separate bowl and incorporate it into the wet ingredients gently.
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan, spreading it evenly and adding any optional toppings.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack and cutting into squares.
