Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together your eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry until just combined.
  2. Shape the donuts: Roll the dough on a floured surface to about ½ inch thick. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the donuts and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Heat the oil: In a deep skillet or pot, heat your oil until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  4. Fry the donuts: Carefully drop your shaped donuts into the heated oil. Fry them for 1-2 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
