Description
A festive dessert featuring light meringue wreaths topped with fresh berries and creamy whipped cream, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar (or superfine sugar)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup fresh strawberries
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup fresh raspberries
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a clean, dry mixing bowl, whip the egg whites on medium speed until foamy. Gradually add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, and continue to beat until stiff peaks form, about 8-10 minutes.
- Gently stir in the vanilla extract.
- Transfer the meringue into a piping bag fitted with a star or round tip and pipe small circles to create wreath shapes with hollow centers.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 to 2 hours until dry and crisp. Turn off the oven and let the meringues cool inside to prevent cracks.
- Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then fill the centers of the cooled meringues with cream and top with fresh berries.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container, keeping meringues and cream separate until serving.
Notes
Ensure bowls and utensils are grease-free for the best meringue consistency. Avoid humidity on baking day, and store meringues separately from the cream to maintain texture.
