Instructions
- Prepare your work area with a clean surface or marble slab.
- Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in a medium saucepan over medium heat and stir until dissolved.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and quickly stir in peppermint extract and food coloring.
- Cool slightly for about 5-10 minutes until warm but safe to handle.
- Knead the mixture on your prepared surface, greasing hands with butter to avoid sticking.
- Cut into sticks using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
- Dust with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
- Let cool completely before serving or packaging.
