Description
A delightful combination of juicy beef patties, earthy mushrooms, and creamy Swiss cheese, all cooked perfectly in foil packets on the grill.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 8 oz Mushrooms (button or cremini, sliced)
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp Fresh parsley or thyme (chopped)
- 1 Onion (optional, sliced)
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: Chop the mushrooms, garlic, and any herbs you’d like to include. Season the ground beef with salt, pepper, and optional Worcestershire sauce.
- Form the patties: Divide the ground beef into portions and shape them into patties that are slightly larger than your intended burger buns.
- Assemble the packets: Lay out a large piece of aluminum foil for each packet. Place a patty in the center, top it with sautéed mushrooms, a sprinkle of garlic, fresh herbs, and a generous slice of Swiss cheese.
- Seal the foil: Fold the sides of the foil over the patty and ingredients to create a sealed packet.
- Cook on the grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and place the foil packets directly on the grates. Cook for about 15-20 minutes or until your burgers reach your desired doneness.
- Serve: Carefully open the packets (watching out for steam!) and enjoy your burgers on a toasted bun or just as they are, surrounded by fresh greens.
Notes
For best results, avoid overloading the foil packets. Feel free to experiment with different cheese options and herbs.
