Description
A comforting dish featuring tender chicken, vibrant broccoli, and pasta in a creamy garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 8 oz pasta (penne, fusilli, or spaghetti)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1–2 tbsp soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
- 1 cup chicken broth or water (for steaming broccoli)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces, chop broccoli into florets, and mince the garlic.
- Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water and cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- Sauté the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add Garlic and Broccoli: Stir in minced garlic and broccoli florets. Pour in chicken broth or water to steam broccoli for about 4-5 minutes, until tender.
- Make the Sauce: Lower heat and add cream, parmesan, soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce, and some reserved pasta water. Stir until combined.
- Combine with Pasta: Toss cooked pasta into the skillet, mixing thoroughly until coated with the sauce. Add more pasta water if needed.
- Serve: Garnish with additional parmesan and black pepper. Enjoy hot with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
This recipe is flexible; feel free to substitute chicken with shrimp or chickpeas, and use frozen broccoli if fresh is unavailable.
