Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 cups fresh mushrooms (button or cremini), chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme (or dried thyme)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 beaten egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté the mushrooms in butter with minced garlic over medium heat until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Let the mushrooms cool slightly, then mix with softened cream cheese.
  3. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into squares.
  4. Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each square, folding corners over to seal.
  5. Brush with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  6. Bake on a parchment-lined sheet at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden.
  7. Cool slightly before serving.
