- 1 package puff pastry, thawed
- 2 cups fresh mushrooms (button or cremini), chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme (or dried thyme)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 beaten egg (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Sauté the mushrooms in butter with minced garlic over medium heat until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
- Let the mushrooms cool slightly, then mix with softened cream cheese.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into squares.
- Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each square, folding corners over to seal.
- Brush with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake on a parchment-lined sheet at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden.
- Cool slightly before serving.
