- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- Fresh fruit (berries, kiwi, passionfruit)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and draw an 8-inch circle.
- In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, until meringue is glossy and forms stiff peaks.
- Gently fold in cornstarch, vinegar, and vanilla.
- Spoon meringue onto parchment in a circle shape, creating swirls and peaks.
- Bake at 250°F (120°C) for 1.5 hours or until dry and crisp. Turn off the oven and let cool completely inside.
- Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Once meringue is completely cool, top with whipped cream and fresh fruits.
- Slice and serve immediately.
Notes
Use room temperature eggs for fluffiness. Avoid making on humid days to maintain crispiness.
