Description
A comforting dish of juicy pork chops enveloped in a creamy and slightly spicy peppercorn sauce, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 Pork Chops (bone-in or boneless)
- 2 tablespoons Freshly Cracked Black Peppercorns
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 Shallot (finely chopped)
- 1 cup Beef or Chicken Broth
- Salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Season the pork chops generously with salt and freshly cracked pepper.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt a tablespoon of butter and sear the pork chops for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
- Add another tablespoon of butter to the skillet, then add minced garlic and shallots, sautéing until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Pour in the broth, scraping the browned bits off the bottom of the pan, and simmer for a few minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream and allow the sauce to gently simmer for a couple of minutes.
- Season the sauce with more cracked pepper and salt to taste.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, allowing them to soak in the sauce for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream. Chicken thighs can be used instead of pork if preferred.
