Description

A comforting dish of juicy pork chops enveloped in a creamy and slightly spicy peppercorn sauce, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 Pork Chops (bone-in or boneless)
  • 2 tablespoons Freshly Cracked Black Peppercorns
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 Shallot (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup Beef or Chicken Broth
  • Salt (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops generously with salt and freshly cracked pepper.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt a tablespoon of butter and sear the pork chops for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Add another tablespoon of butter to the skillet, then add minced garlic and shallots, sautéing until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  5. Pour in the broth, scraping the browned bits off the bottom of the pan, and simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and allow the sauce to gently simmer for a couple of minutes.
  7. Season the sauce with more cracked pepper and salt to taste.
  8. Return the pork chops to the skillet, allowing them to soak in the sauce for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream. Chicken thighs can be used instead of pork if preferred.
