Description

A delightful and comforting taco bake using flaky Pillsbury crescent rolls, seasoned ground beef, fresh vegetables, and gooey cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 tube Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion, diced (optional)
  • Sour cream for garnish
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add taco seasoning and bell peppers, cooking until the peppers are tender.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes and let everything simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Open the Pillsbury Crescent Rolls and unroll the dough, placing it in a baking dish to cover the bottom.
  5. Spoon the taco meat mixture over the crescent dough, spreading evenly.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the meat mixture.
  7. Fold the edges of the crescent rolls over the filling and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes, then garnish with sour cream and fresh cilantro.
  9. Cut into squares and serve warm.

Notes

For a meatless version, substitute ground meat with black beans and add more vegetables like zucchini or mushrooms.
