Description

A delightful Plum Tart that combines sweet and tart flavors, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold
  • 1 egg
  • Fresh plums, ripe and sliced
  • Vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: In a medium bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add egg and mix until the dough comes together. Press into tart pan and chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Slice the plums while the crust chills, aiming for even slices about ¼ inch thick.
  4. Arrange the plum slices artistically over the chilled crust.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the plums are bubbling.
  6. Cool slightly before slicing and serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

To avoid excess moisture, drain canned or frozen plums thoroughly. Reduce sugar if a tart flavor is preferred.
