- 1 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Prepare the wet ingredients: In another bowl, combine sugar and vegetable oil, then add eggs, buttermilk, red food coloring, and vanilla, whisking until smooth.
- Combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Chill the dough: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Form the cookies: Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and roll into balls, then coat in powdered sugar.
- Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes until the edges look set and tops have crinkled.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
