Description
Delicious and festive roll ups filled with tart cranberries, creamy cheese, and crunchy pecans, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package puff pastry, thawed
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup toasted pecans, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh herbs (thyme and rosemary)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 egg, for egg wash
Instructions
- Prepare the Cranberry Filling: In a skillet over medium heat, combine the fresh cranberries, minced garlic, toasted pecans, and herbs. Stir in honey or maple syrup. Sauté until the cranberries begin to burst (about 5-7 minutes). Allow it to cool slightly.
- Roll Out the Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out your puff pastry sheets and cut into 4×4 inch squares.
- Assemble the Roll Ups: Place a spoonful of the cranberry mixture in the center of each pastry square, top with a slice of cream cheese, fold the corners to the center, seal, and brush with egg wash.
- Bake: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the roll ups on a parchment lined baking sheet for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve and Enjoy: Allow cooling slightly before serving.
Notes
Let the filling cool before stuffing the pastry to avoid sogginess.
