Description

A deliciously light and fluffy naan made with Greek yogurt, perfect for pairing with various dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup warm water or milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add yogurt: Create a well in the center and scoop in the Greek yogurt, combining with warm water or milk until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until soft and elastic.
  4. Rest the dough: Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Divide and shape: Divide into small balls, roll each into a flat oval about ¼ inch thick.
  6. Cook the naan: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, cook naan until golden brown on one side, then flip and cook until charred.
  7. Finish with butter: Brush with melted butter or garlic butter, if desired.

Notes

Experiment with flavors by adding herbs or garlic to the dough. Best served warm.
