Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and spices.
  4. In another bowl, cream butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  5. Blend in the molasses and vanilla.
  6. Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let cool in pan before frosting.
  10. For frosting, beat cream cheese, heavy cream, and confectioners’ sugar until smooth.
  11. Spread frosting on cooled brownies, slice, and serve.
