Instructions

- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and spices in a bowl. Set aside.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Beat in the egg one at a time, followed by the orange zest.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Drop dollops of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden but center remains soft.
- Combine powdered sugar and orange juice for the glaze, then drizzle over cooled cookies.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute with almond or coconut flour. Allow cookies to cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to prevent breaking.
