Description

A delightful dessert that combines a moist vanilla cake with vibrant strawberry Jello and whipped topping, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 box strawberry Jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • Fresh strawberries, for topping
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven as per the cake mix instructions. Prepare your baking pan by greasing it lightly. Prepare the cake batter according to the box instructions, then pour it into the pan and bake until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Dissolve the Jello mix in boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved, then let it cool slightly.
  3. Poke holes all over the top of the cooled cake with a fork, about an inch apart. Pour the strawberry Jello evenly over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
  4. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes.
  5. Spread the whipped topping over the chilled cake. Decorate with sliced fresh strawberries if desired.
  6. Slice into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use a gluten-free cake mix. Allow the cake to cool completely before poking holes for better absorption of the Jello.
