- Red and green food coloring
Instructions
- Cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and extracts until combined.
- Gradually add the flour and baking powder, stirring just until incorporated.
- Divide the dough in half and add red and green food coloring to each portion.
- Roll each colored dough into logs, wrap in parchment paper, and chill for at least an hour.
- Slice the chilled logs into rounds and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 350°F until edges are lightly golden, about 10-12 minutes.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Chill dough properly to prevent cookies from spreading too much in the oven. Consider using a bench scraper when rolling the dough to keep edges neat.
