- 1 cup taro, peeled and cubed
- 1 cup creamy cheese (mozzarella or gouda)
- 4 slices of your choice of bread
- 1/4 cup red date rice wine
- 1 cup quick-cook oats
- Butter, for grilling
Instructions
- Prepare the Taro: Peel the taro and cut it into cubes. Boil in a saucepan with water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Make the Oatmeal: Cook oatmeal according to package instructions. Stir in red date rice wine at the end of cooking.
- Mash and Combine: Drain the taro and mash in a bowl. Fold in the melted cheese until creamy.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Spread the taro and cheese mixture on a slice of bread, top with red date rice wine oatmeal, and place another slice on top.
- Grill: Butter the outside of the sandwich and grill on medium heat until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Serve Warm: Cut the sandwich in half and enjoy.
