- 4 cups Chex cereal (corn, rice, or wheat)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup mixed nuts and pretzels (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar, and salt over medium heat. Stir until bubbling, then remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a large bowl, combine the Chex cereal and optional nuts or pretzels. Pour the toffee mixture over the cereal, stirring gently to coat.
- Spread the mixture in an even layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
- Let the mix cool completely before breaking into clusters and enjoy.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with coconut oil. Customize with chocolate chips or different nuts as desired.
