Ingredients

  • 4 cups Chex cereal (corn, rice, or wheat)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mixed nuts and pretzels (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar, and salt over medium heat. Stir until bubbling, then remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the Chex cereal and optional nuts or pretzels. Pour the toffee mixture over the cereal, stirring gently to coat.
  4. Spread the mixture in an even layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  6. Let the mix cool completely before breaking into clusters and enjoy.

Notes
