Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a muffin or cupcake tin with paper liners.
- Mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium-sized bowl.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, alternating with milk.
- Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cupcakes before frosting.
- Prepare the frosting by beating cream cheese and butter, then gradually adding powdered sugar and food coloring.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes and sprinkle with heart-shaped decorations.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute the butter with coconut oil and use dairy-free milk. Feel free to customize the frosting with different flavors or colors.
